A high school graduation. A college graduation. A grand baby. A memorial. A major farewell. A wedding. My baby off to college.
These are just the BIG events that happened in my life between Memorial Day and Labor Day. How did I survive? you ask. I don't think I did! But I endured and I even think I kind of endured it well. And I did so by using GRACE. I know, I know. I talk about this word all the time in my episodes but that's because as a real live woman (no AI bot here) I am learning just like all ya'll how to not just get by, but thrive! And I learn more every day about how granting myself grace is the KEY!!! I'm not about to keep that little gem to myself!!! Come along and see how grace got me through this insane list and even gave me a few moments of peace.
This season we are going to ACCESS your goodness. We started excavating it in Season 1 - now it's time to reach into that hole of expectations the world puts on us and pull out that goodness! The world NEEDS you to KNOW your food and it NEEDS you to ACCESS your good because the world NEEDS you to USE your good! (That might be a plant for Season 3....)

Do you know who you are?Moana’s grandmother asked her this question, and I ask it of you now. Using the beautiful music from Disney’s Moana, we get to know our inner wisdom even better. Traditions have sometimes “stolen” or at least “hidden” the heart that’s inside us.And when we can’t hear that inner voice, we also miss hearing our authentic call - our call for us but also our call for touching other. Getting to know the language of our heart allows us to clearly identify the simple steps we can take to impact our world for good.

We all have an inner wisdom, an inner voice. It’s what I call our true, authentic self. But most of us have buried deep inside of us and forgotten how to speak it’s language. Today we begin to get in touch with this inner wisdom, though years of pushing it aside won’t be undone in a day. We start with a meditation that will help us locate that voice. Then leaning on it a little, we begin to use that inner wisdom to understand the harmony of our own personal wheel of wellness – harmony between your physical, mental, emotional, and social wellbeing. Once we start to see what that harmony might be for you we can use small, intentional steps to accomplish it. And a quick reminder, none of us are perfect, most especially myself. Have fun picking up on my super deep thought about what it means to grant yourself value! Enjoy a laugh on me!

We are often our own worst critic. We often tend to judge ourself and cut ourself down more than others do to us. This isn't healthy for us nor for those around us. In this week's episode of The Good She Carries we use the analogy of a sheep herder and a shepherd to understand why our inner sheep might prefer the shepherd. Use this worksheet as you go through the episode to help you answer questions about your inner critic and your inner compassion.

Ever wonder why it feels so good to be seen? Or why it feels so good when you make sure someone else is seen? Believe it or not, kindness is actually an abundant commodity in the world today. Unfortunately, there can never be enough of it and we certainly could use more of it these days. I recently dug into the science of why kindness feels so good and found some amazing things that I share in this week's episode. Most especially, studies that PROVE it's more powerful than we believe. I also encourage you in this week's butterfly step to take a step towards adding a little more kindness into the world. If we women want to influence the world for good, it has to start with our kindness. Check out these kindness groups if you need inspiration.
